Missing deadlines by being behind it can affect the employee’s productivity and of course it affects the business itself. It causes a great loss, unfinished work plan, and may be it make you lose your customer. That’s why, there are 4 important steps that shall be taken into consideration to be able to manage and meet your deadline and control your work sufficiently.
1- Determine the Start Date for every task and create a to-do-list for your tasks. Organize it carefully by starting it with the difficult and the non-preferred tasks and ending it with your favorite tasks. This will give you a motivation to finish the difficult tasks to reach your preferable ones.
2-Determine the End Date: Meaning that you have to specify the meet deadline, even if the tasks do not have a deadline. You have to specify it by yourself. It will probably help you to be committed to your to-do-list to achieve the scheduled deadline.
3-Break the Tasks Down: Meaning that you can divide the whole block of tasks into smaller steps and parts. You can also specify an estimated time to finish these small tasks or steps and be dedicated to finish the tasks on the scheduled deadline that you set. It is important as it shows how you will be committed to your big deadline.
4-Every time you meet “your” small-deadlines, you have to reward yourself: You can do something that you like as a prize for your achievement. This step is important as it will be a motivation to yourself to meet the deadline to get the reward.
Meeting your deadline will make you a dedicated and a trusted employee. So, you have to do your best to achieve your deadlines by following the previous tackled steps.
